I'm TJ, character builder,
life long learner, singer songwriter.
I'm from the island of Maui but am currently residing in Nashville, TN, home of country music... and that ABC show.
Ever since high school, I've wanted to live abroad. Ever since finding out I was
Japanese/Okinawan, I've wanted to travel to the mother land. It finally looks like my life-long dream will
soon become a reality. I'm in the hiring
process to become an assistant language teacher in English classes in JAPAN!
My background in education and youth development spans over
6 years. I'm excited to see the difference
between the behavior of Japanese kids and American kids. Also, I'm very curious
to see the difference in the way that parents treat teachers in Japan.
I'm currently learning Japanese. When I'm studying, I
sometimes feel like I could go to Japan right then and be able to communicate
with the locals, but then I watch an anime and I can only identify certain words
out of a sentence and I'm like, This is so hard!!! How am I going to learn
this!!!?
I put together a youtube channel that encompasses everything
that has to do with my trip to Japan (including but not limited to: Japanese
Language, Japanese Culture, Child Education and Development, How i'm raising
money for the move to Japan, What I need to do to prepare for Japan.)
I'll need to raise $7,000 in 5 months! And there's just no
way I can do that with out the help of others.
The way that I'm raising money is through my side business of Rodan +
Fields. I believe that these products
have the ability to help others and what better way to raise funds then by
selling and giving away products that help others love their skin and build self-confidence.
If you would like to help me with this endeavor, follow me on pinterest, and subscribe to my youtube channel. Repost and Repin my videos on your social media
venues and lets be friends on them as well!
Thank you for all your help fellow Adventure seekers,
T.J. Sensei

Looks like it's gonna be baked beans and rice again.
When I recently paid off all my college debt a month ago, I thought that that was the last time I had to make that dreaded dish for dinner again.
TJ 1:
It's actually not that bad. Because I was eating it every week for a year I had to get really creative. One week it would be baked pinto beans with brown rice (It's always brown rice because there's no way I'm getting fat due to having to save money.) topped with Mexican mix cheese. The next week would be baked black beans BBQ style with sausage, BBQ sauce, and brown rice. And lastly my favorite, baked black beans in cream of mushroom with rice.
TJ 2:
UHHH!!! But I don't want to eat baked beans anymore! I don't want to eat it ever again! I once heard Dave Ramsey talk about how he hates tuna sandwiches because whenever he eats one he feels poor. "That's poor people food!," he said. He went on to explain that that's what his wife would make for him everyday for lunch before they became immensely successful.
TJ 1:
But that's what he had to do to get to where he is now. I don't see any other way around it. There's just no way I could make that much money in 5 months without having to starve myself again.
When I think about this undertaking, the goal and what it will take to reach it, my heart becomes heavy. It's just so much money in so little time... but I need to do it. But I will do it! I'll starve myself again. I'll force myself to eat beans and rice again. I'll get to Japan because that's the dream and this is the time.
